Most people today still drive gas cars. There are far more gas powered cars that are being sold than the alternative, but that gap is slowly decreasing. Almost every car manufacturer now offers an electric car, but people still aren’t buying. The one company that is making waves in the electric car category is Tesla. Even though these Tesla cars aren’t as easy or convenient to charge as some of the other electric cars, people still flock to buy the Model 3 that they’ve never even see. The question everyone is asking is, “How did one car company change the view on electric vehicles?”

When Tesla was first founded back in 2003, no one paid too much attention to them. It’s main goal was to introduce an electric car that would be cool for the average consumer. The founders were sick and tired of driving electric cars that just didn’t work for their style. However, when Elon Musk became the Chairman of the Board for Tesla, people really started to pay attention. This was in 2004 when he introduced the Series A and got the funding for it.

Tesla became known as the superior sports car company that was sleek and expensive. You couldn’t get a car like a Tesla without a high price tag. Perhaps the greatest feat that Tesla has overcome is that they shouldn’t have become popular at all. The car companies we see today are the same car companies that have been around for more than 100 years. In fact, there hasn’t been a very successful start up company since Ford, over 100 years ago. That’s why Tesla has been making news. People love to watch them because they are new and explore a very untapped market.

The Roadster, Tesla’s first car, wouldn’t be released until 2008. The buzz for it could be felt around the world, and there was a lot of pressure for the company to deliver an amazing electric car. It was expensive and unattainable for many, which is what made the car so desirable. While it took a few years, Tesla really delivered on this car. Since then, they have been in the spotlight ever since.

Nowadays, Tesla isn’t only known for making cars that can be purchased by millionaires. Elon Musk and the other founders of the company are dreamers, and they are working to provide every household with a sustainable and affordable option to help the environment. There wasn’t an expensive electric car on the market that could go 0 to 60 within a few seconds. When Tesla first released their car, they were one of a kind. This unique product made everyone wish for what Tesla was offering, and their small production made purchasing the car even more elusive. Today though, Tesla just released their Model 3 vehicle. This electric car is an affordable sedan that is one of the most reliable and affordable in the electric car category. In fact, the Model 3 won best in class for every category it was in.

If you asked people a few years ago they would have said no to an electric car. The electric cars of the past were wimpy, with low power, and hard to love designs. Tesla has changed the market completely by offering an affordable and desirable car that anyone would love to drive. The range is longer, the charge is faster, and the car looks good. In a world obsessed with social media posts and being the best, these Millenials want a car that looks just as good as it drives. Unlike the other companies out there, Tesla watched this and listened to consumers’ desires. They released a car that would please even the hardest to love young adults.

Research has shown that Millenials are warming up to the idea of owning an electric car, and guess what car they want? These Millenials want the Tesla. They branded themselves as a high quality brand, and the people are listening. Car companies everywhere should be taking note of the way Tesla introduced their successful line of electric cars. More and more people are shifting from buying gas powered cars to wanting the cool sports car designs of the modern Tesla vehicles.
